Hear from my lovely students

Lao partner
Through the level 1 course I had the confidence to form simple responses with my in-laws in Lao. Through those interactions they became excited to teach me more. The experience just from the very first course has paid dividends.

Lao-American
After my grandma passed away, I felt distant from my Lao roots. As a first-generation Lao American, I feel the personal responsibility to keep them alive. Not only will my Lao roots be kept alive, but my grandma's legacy will too.

After my father passed away I lost my motivation to keep learning. My classmates went out of their way to lift me up. It reminded me there is a warmth and kindness in this community and that I'm not alone.

Living in Laos
I had difficulty communicating with local people because most of them don't speak English. I finally found a way to break the language barrier. I mustered up the courage to start speaking Lao with sellers, colleagues, and locals and never anticipated grasping it faster than expected.

I've been through two Lao tutors but those lessons lacked structure. This class was better than any if not most university online classes I've had. The structure made it easy to follow and engaging.

My goal was to improve in speaking Lao with my family and connecting with relatives in Laos. From L1 to L3, each course helped me achieve that goal and find new ones along the way. I would encourage new learners to give Lao English School a chance.

Lao-American
I decided to learn Lao as a surprise gift to my Mother to connect in her native language, but now it has become my own journey of reconnecting with my heritage. Having her notice my improvement every week is going to be a very cherished memory.

I decided to learn Lao to better communicate with my grandmothers, my in-laws, and other Lao people in my community. Learning the Lao language and culture feels right, it makes me feel connected to my heritage. I met an amazing teacher whose passion for educating shines in her lessons.

Meet your teacher Ginie
Whilst teaching, I made so great connections with my lovely students. I was surprised to learn from them that there were very little up to date resources to help people learn Lao online. Not to mention that those resources did not use daily vocabulary and phrases. That is why I started Lao English School in June 2021. With the mission to make the Lao language accessible to everyone, no matter where you are in the world. Because language barrier shouldn't hold you back from connecting with your loved ones. And every word that you learn, every sentence that you speak, brings us one step closer to that dream!
